TK 10 Year Anniversary for the Class of 99 - 16 October 2009
Hi everyone.
This is a really delayed email but I'm glad I finally found time to write it.
This is a big thank you to everyone who had supported the event, be it you were there or not. We had a, not say roaring success, but a wonderful event on 16 October 2009 amongst great company and great food!
First and foremost, I must thank my organising committee, David, Sofia and Azlina, for being so patient with my last minute meetings and directions, for being so initiative in proposing ideas and getting things done and for being so pro-active in the entire event planning despite their work schedules and accommodating to my wierd work schedule. The calling and emailing and updating of contacts and attendance is indeed not an easy thing to do. The arrangement of caterer, the design and printing of invitation cards, sending them out, the event day itself etc....You amazed me!
I must also thank the school, Mr Koh Tong Seah for being the main contact and liaison, the principal Mr Lee for the kind use of school venue, Mr Ng the Operations manager for helping out on the day itself for getting things in place and organising the school staff in assisting us to get the sound system the security in place and and rubbish cleaned up.
Thanks to Mr Lee Kai Hung, the president of the Tanjong Katong Secondary School Alumnus. He has gracefully sponsored 2 pairs of sunglasses from his optical shop. The 2 winners will be contacted shortly because I forgot their names (but I remember their faces.)
Lastly, I must thank all of you who came and had a great evening, especially those who brought their children and spouse along. I hope they were not too bored. The teachers who came, you made a whole difference to the event. I am sure those who came found it heartwarming that we still remember you for bringing us to where we are today. We wouldnt have made it this far without those important years of growing up. I was also glad to see that the alumni made the initative to meet and greet the teachers and remind them of the days when we were young and naughty! haha
We originally catered to sending out souvenirs and photos and videos to everyone who came for the event earlier in June. Due to the change in timing and lower turnout in the postphoned event, I am afraid we are unable to send out these. Those who want the pictures, please give me some more time to upload them onto facebook or you may contact me directly for the photos through a meet up with me or any of my organising team.
Once again, I thank all of you for making this event a succeess. I hope someone will be able to coordinate our 15th, 20th, etc anniversary, or even simple christmas meetups etc.
Take care everyone and work hard!! Stay united! Thank you once again.
Best Regards
Kelvyn Choo

Class Reunion Details (payment details at the bottom)
Precious Moments Together
When we were young
Its a go ahead! Look at the poster above for general information. You will be receiving an invitation card soon!!!
Below is a guide to how you can make this event a success.
1) Update your msn nick name by putting this in front of your nickname : [tkclassof99.blogspot]
All your friends will know there is this blogspot and will know about the event!
2) Tell all your friends about it, make them jealous that their school dont have one.
3) Things to Bring
Any item, photo, CCA shirt, collar pins, trophies, awards, certificates, banners(if you still keep) or year book from the time of 1996 – 1999. Anything at all!
There will be an exhibition of items which will put up all these items for us and for students of the school, to let them connect with what the school used to be like and inspiring them to keep in touch in future too.
4) What to expect for the evening (apart from a load of FUN and reminiscence)
- Buffet Dinner (Halal)
- Chats with teachers and principals whom have guided us
- Updates from TK on its current high standing in Singapore
- Catch up with old buddies you have not met in 10 years
- Get to know people you never knew existed!
- Meet husbands/wives/children(!) of your friends and teachers
- Lucky Draw
Photographers will be on hand to snap pictures for you to keep for the next 10 years (before you get old......er)
5) How to bring down your costs
1. Bring your spouse and children, the latter gets to eat for free.
2. If you class hits 75% attendance, the whole class will get a free limited edition gift.
6) Payment
The cost of attending the event is $25, including all food and a 10 years anniversary souvenir. This amount per head will also be used to cover other external manpower needed for the event as the school is not able to provide students due to the recent H1N1 issue as well as term timing issues.
To make things smoother for the event and for the organisers to take less out of their pockets, please try to make payment before the day itself. All excess will be returned to the attendees in kind as well as donated to the school as a form of funding to needy students. You are welcome to give more. The amount of $25 is just enough to cover the event. Needy students of TK would appreciate all proceeds from the alumni and you can choose to remain annonymous.
